What is the performance impact associated with Argus products?

Because security enforcement is performed at the operating system level it is fast and efficient. The performance impact depends in part on the applications running and on how the system is being used. However, in most cases, the performance impact of Argus products is so low that it cannot be measured or detected easily.

Argus software has been certified by independent authorities and proven in operational environments. Because the security of your systems is so critical, it is important to seek independent validation of vendor's claims. Argus is committed to providing the most secure, robust, and stable product on the market. To demonstrate our commitment, Argus has submitted its products for evaluation and has received certification from an internationally recognized body, ITSEC. Argus' PitBull Foundation product is currently undergoing Common Criteria evaluation.

In January 2001 Argus' PitBull products were used in eWEEK's OpenHack III competition to secure servers without any firewalls or IDS. During a sixteen-day period, over five million hacking attempts were launched at these servers without a single hacking success.
